About me

There's not much behind the name, Pixie was a nickname many moons ago and struck me as a different, catchy name to attach to my photography (that and everyone loves a bit of alliteration don't they?!).

'Her Candid Camera' is my new brand/company name, moving away from PPP was important because I wanted to keep my travel and lifestyle photography separate to my work photography.

I've been taking photographs since I found my Dad's Pentax when I was around 5 years old. I've always been completely obsessed with photographs - who took them, why and what stories I could find in them. My passion for photography is fuelled by a keen aspiration to preserve moments in time, immortalise memories, places and people.

I got my first DSLR in 2006 and since then I've gained a lot of experience following friends bands around, taking images in social settings and working for a local free press newspaper. I'm in the last stretch of gaining my HND with the British Academy of photography which is hard work but very beneficial. 

2023 brought with it the opportunity to launch myself out of my comfort zone, putting my art, my photography and myself out into the world in a professional capacity.

Outside photography I actually have a degree in Theatre and Performance, I've always felt creative on either side of a camera. I enjoy yoga, swimming and walking my two beautiful dogs Piper and Bramble. Travelling the world taking photos is my dream and an old fashioned is my favourite drink.
